Mental health support is an important element of our colleagues’ health and wellbeing. Mental Health First Aiders are a point of contact if a BMI employee, or someone that they know and are worried about, is experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress.

They are not therapists or psychiatrists but they can provide initial support and signpost employees to the appropriate help, if required. Mental health awareness training for managers has also taken place in Germany and the Nordics, with more to follow.

After several employees were found to have risk factors for cardiovascular diseases following their annual check-up, BMI Indonesia took the initiative to hold a health campaign for all employees at all sites.

The campaign started with a talk by a medical practitioner about cardiovascular disease and its risk factors, and a number of competitions are scheduled to encourage and support positive lifestyle behaviors, including a virtual run to encourage employees to exercise regularly.

DACH, Iberia, Nordics, UK&I, Poland, Baltics and Schiedel also have their own Wellness agenda, with the focus on awareness and education via workshop and interactive sessions.
